CABINET SECRETARY LAUNCHES TRANSFORMATIVE “MAZIWA NI SCHOOL FEES” IN UASIN GISHU COUNTY.
On February 28, 2025, the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSME, Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya, EGH, alongside Uasin Gishu Governor, Hon. Dr. Jonathan Bii, officially launched the groundbreaking “Maziwa Ni School Fees” program at Tuiyo Cooperative Society in Uasin Gishu County.
This innovative initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on dairy farmers by converting their daily milk deliveries into a reliable means of paying school fees. For years, fluctuating incomes have made it challenging for parents to consistently meet their children’s educational expenses. With this program, families can now contribute just two liters of milk per day through their local cooperative societies, ensuring uninterrupted access to education while fostering better dairy farming practices.
The launch at Tuiyo Cooperative Society marked a significant milestone in efforts to empower farmers and build resilient dairy cooperatives. As a key stakeholder, New KCC plays a crucial role in this initiative, strengthening its partnerships with farmers while supporting their livelihoods. By providing a direct, practical solution to financial challenges, the program not only benefits individual families but also supports the dairy industry as a whole.
